Cereal Bowls continued - self image appreciation

I was given the opportunity to continue with my cereal bowls series! I hope you enjoy them and can start to see how these women are taking control and accepting themselves as they are, beautiful and amazing.

Just noticed they are all vertical... kinda amusing as everything I have been shooting lately has been horizontal.

Singing, Writing and Pictures

I was given the opportunity to shoot Jamie Wyatt yesterday. She is amazing, so beautiful I didn't have to work at making her look good. And such a wonderful spirit! She was willing to do almost anything, which started with braving the very cold wind out on the pier here in Ventura. She is recording her song Believe today and is destined to make it far!

Portraits at the Park

I am back in Phoenix for a whirlwind portrait weekend. Yesterday I got the opportunity to take pictures of three gorgeous girls, Sidra, Shiza, and Ayeshaw. They were so much fun! It was definitely not work being with them!

My Mom

This past week I was on break and able to go see my family in Phoenix, AZ. I had to shoot some portraits for homework and decided to shoot my mom. She is always taking care of us by making sure we eat correctly and enough, and she somehow maintains a good attitude about her permanent station in the kitchen. Since I can remember she has been there always cooking and allowing us to help. Mom time is in the kitchen. So, she is:

Time and Meditation

This last week has been crazy as will be the next. On Friday I was forced to have a few hours of free time as an appointment time was miscommunicated. I bought some lunch and sat in a park I had never see before. The moment of peace was appreciated but it did take a long time to calm down and actually look at what was around. We look at so much but see so little.

Space

This weekend has been very busy. I have been following around Dr. Michael Clark he is a equine veterinarian. It has been so fun and has opened a whole new world. I have also been trying to attend as much of a photographic vision workshop as possible here at school. I have become aware of the space that surrounds us. The space between people, the space of a place, the space between me and the world, the space between me and my camera, and how my camera fills my space. It brings the world right to my eye, perhaps that is why I love it.

Heaven is a dusty bookstore

I have been on break for the last few days and happened to be walking around with a friend and went into this little store. I have been in search of peace lately. A place away from the drama of people. A place to just breath and just...be. It is amazing the peace that can be found in a dusty shelf. To be surrounded by friends that will never let you down, never judge you, and always accept you as you are.

"Some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity...." ~Gilda Radner

Cereal Bowls

For my final project for class we got to do whatever we wanted. I decided to do something fun and it had turned into a statement though still fun! Women are all different sizes and we should all be celebrated for who we are! I hope you enjoy these more to come in the future hopefully.
